Agriculture has always been the backbone of India, but in today’s rapidly changing world, it needs innovation, technology, and young minds ready to reimagine farming. That’s exactly what Hackathon NASE-2025 is setting out to do.
Organized by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, in association with Visvesvaraya Research & Innovation Foundation (VTU Belagavi), this event is part of the larger National Agricultural Science Exhibition (NASE-2025). Supported by the Krishik PN Foundation, Krishik-Agri Business Incubator, and the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare (GoI) under the RKVY-Innovation and Agri-Entrepreneurship Programme, the hackathon promises to be a hub of creativity, technology, and purpose.
Dates: 5–6 December 2025
Venue: UAS Dharwad Campus
Who Can Participate?
The hackathon is designed to be inclusive, bringing together bright minds across disciplines. Participants include:
- Students from Farm Universities, Engineering, Veterinary, MBA, MCA, Science, Commerce, and more
- UG, PG, and Diploma students from recognized higher educational institutions
- Teams of 2–5 members, ensuring collaboration and diversity
This openness reflects the truth that solving agricultural challenges requires not just farmers or agri-scientists, but also engineers, data scientists, business strategists, and innovators.
Themes and Problem Areas
The hackathon focuses on real-world problems in agriculture, giving participants a chance to apply their knowledge where it matters most. Some of the key challenge areas include:
- Smart Farm Mechanization
- Precision Agriculture & Drones
- Water & Irrigation Management
- Post-Harvest & Cold Chain Solutions
- Sustainable Farming Practices
- Agri Supply Chain & Market Linkages
- Climate-Smart Agriculture

Each theme reflects a pain point in agriculture, and more importantly, a space for innovation. Whether it’s designing affordable drones for small farmers, creating better cold-chain systems to reduce post-harvest losses, or developing farmer-friendly fintech tools—these challenges hold immense scope for meaningful solutions.

Why Should You Participate?
The hackathon isn’t just a competition—it’s a launchpad.
- Work on real-world agri challenges that directly impact farmers
- Win exciting prizes and certificates
- Get incubation and scaling opportunities for your ideas
- Showcase your innovations at a national-level expo
- Connect with startups, incubators, and investors
For students, this is more than a project—it’s a chance to make a real difference in Indian agriculture while building networks and gaining entrepreneurial exposure.
A Movement for Change
What makes Hackathon NASE-2025 truly special is its vision. It isn’t just about coding or building prototypes; it’s about bridging the gap between agriculture and technology. With India’s agriculture sector facing climate change, resource constraints, and global competition, innovation is not optional—it’s essential.
By empowering young innovators, NASE-2025 is planting seeds of sustainable farming, rural entrepreneurship, and farmer empowerment. And just like a seed that grows into a tree, the ideas born here may transform into startups, scalable solutions, and future policies that will impact millions.
